COLLEGE PICKS WEEK 6

This is a great week for the top 25.  Starting with the Thursday night game, #21 Nebraska at #24 Missouri. Saturday, we even have some more intriguing match-ups such as: #1Florida at #4 LSU, #3 Alabama at #20 Ole Miss. So after this week,  there are definitely going to be some changes in the top 25.

Thursday

#21 Nebraska @ #24 Missouri
E: (#24 Missouri over #21 Nebraska) This will be a very close, and exciting game. Both Qbs are great and will both need to be great for their team to win the game. I like Missouri at home because they are at home. It's that close of a match up where being at home is a major advantage.

J: (#21 Nebraska over #24 Missouri) Nebraska's defense is easily one of the best in the country. It didn't take long for Bo Pellini to get his players on the same page as him. Nebraska will take it on the road. Missouri is just too depleted to me.

Saturday

#1 Florida @ #4 LSU
E: (#1 Florida over #4 LSU) LSU should have lost to Georgia, but they pulled it out at the end. I think they used a lot of energy last week against the Bulldogs. They will be fired up I guarantee you that, but look for Florida and Tebow to be calm and ready to fight.

J: (#4 LSU over #1 Florida) This is a tough one, so please bear with me. LSU is riding a 32-night home game win streak into tomorrow's game, but that's not significant. Since joining the SEC, Les Miles and Urban Meyer have yet to beat each other on the road. Tim Tebow, however, is the x-factor in all of this. If Meyer chooses to start Tebow, the Gators will for sure struggle. I don't believe Tebow has the arm to beat LSU, but luckily for him, Florida has the best rush offense in the nation. Tebow will not be his normal self for at least a few weeks, but there's no way he's 100%, and LSU will try and capitalize on that fact. Tebow's tough, one of the toughest we'll ever see, but there's no way he'll put himself on the line to getting hit. One hard enough hit, and he may be out even longer. I think Florida has a better chance to win with back up John Brantley. Since Tebow won't be making incredible passes, they won't have to force Brantley to do so either, but at least Brantley can make those plays if they do need it. But will Brantley succeed in such a hostile environment? LSU wins it in Baton Rouge as LSU spoils Florida's perfect season.

#2 Texas vs. Colorado

E: (#2 Texas over Colorado) Look for this game to be close at the beginning, but that's about it. McCoy needs games like these to bump up the stat sheet. He will have a huge day, and expect two td's to Shipley for sure.

J: (#2 Texas over Colorado) McCoy all day. (I'm conserving space due to my Florida rant)

#3 Alabama @ #20 Ole Miss
E: (#20 Ole Miss over #3 Alabama) I understand Alabama is a great team, but honestly they have not had a huge test this year. I'm going to take Ole Miss and see if Alabama can prove me that they are for real.

J: (#20 Ole Miss over #3 Alabama) Eric, I love that pick. I'm going to have agree, though the agreement comes with a few personal wishes. Alabama definitely hasn't been tested and much has been said about 'Bama's defense being one of the best in the country. They've got talent for sure, but are they really that good? I've gotta take Ole Miss. They'll want this win more and will be more fired up. It's going to be close, but Ole Miss wins it at home.

#5 Virginia Tech vs. Boston College

E: (Va-Tech over Boston College) Va-tech had a huge scare last week at Duke. I will not take the upset again this week. They prove to me that they are a really good team when they killed Miami. V-tech should blowout B college, and possible move up in the Top 3 next week.

J: (Boston College over #5 Va-Tech) I think the Eagles are more tested this year, overall, than the Hokies. Yeah, Va-Tech beat Miami a couple weeks back, but they had to survive in last week's game against Duke... DUKE. I believe the Eagles will be more motivated and steal one in Blacksburg. (I can't believe I just chose 3 of the top-5 to lose on the same day)

#9 Ohio State vs. Wisconsin

E: (Ohio St. over Wisconsin) If this were at Wisconsin I would definitely take the Badgers. I have taken against Ohio St to many times this year, and I wont take against them again. Pryor should have a great game, and will need to be clutch at the end of the game.

J: (Ohio State over Wisconsin) If this game was at Wisconsin, I might choose differently, but Ohio State is facing their biggest challenge since USC rolled in. Wisconsin is a good team, especially with their sophomore powerback, John Clay. However, the Badgers narrowly defeated Minnesota last week on the road, and Ohio State is on a mission to take the Big-10. It may be a close game, but the Buckeye's win a big game at home.

#10 TCU @ Air Force
E: (#10 TCU over Air Force) I already took Clemson against them a couple weeks ago. They proved to me that they are for real. Now this will be at Air Force, and this is will not as tough as at Clemson. Look for this game to get out of hand real fast.

J: (#10 TCU over Air Force) Air Force has given the Horned Frogs trouble in recent years, and this game will continue that trend. TCU is trying to go undefeated in conference to try and be this year's BCS buster. To do so, the Horned Frogs must win their first conference game of the season, on the road, which they will do successfully. TCU wins it.

#11 Miami vs. Florida A&M

E: (#11 Miami over FAMU) What a terrible game. Harris will just have a chance to get some huge numbers to help out his Heisman run.

J: (FAMU over #11 Miami) It's a shame that Miami is playing FAMU. This game could cause negative implications on Miami's ranking. FAMU has a great WR in Thomas Harris, but they still shouldn't be good enough to score. Miami's defense definitely has its weaknesses, and FAMU will play as hard as they can, but the game will be won in the trenches. I personally don't think it's too far off to think that Miami should drop one or two spots if they allow FAMU to score. Watch for Miami to win as Jacory Harris tries to pad his stats.

#12 Iowa vs. Michigan
E: (#12 Iowa over Michigan) I can see this game getting out of hand. Iowa is good football team. They really don't have any stand out players, but they play as a unit. There defense is awesome, and will shut down Forceit.

J: (Michigan over #12 Iowa) Michigan suffered its first loss of the season last week, and Iowa has been playing better than anyone could've expected. That being said, Iowa has struggled defensively against crappy oppenents who they should be blowing out. Watch for Tate Forcier and the Wolverines to win a big game on the road.

#13 Oregon @ UCLA
E: (UCLA over #13 Oregon) I got to go with my boys on this one. I know it's going to be really tough, but I think they will get it done on the defensive side of ball. This game will be really low scoring and kind of boring. This game will be won by a field goal.

J: (#13 Oregon over UCLA) So far, Oregon is in the driver's seat, as is USC, to win the Pac-10 and play in the Rose Bowl, maybe even a dark-horse to play in the National Championship game. The match-up between them looms in a few weeks and I don't foresee Oregon ruining that chance against UCLA. Oregon is a much better squad, but this game will still be close. Kevin Prince is back so the UCLA offense will be much improved, but it won't do the Bruins any good. Oregon takes it with the intention of coming back to the Rose Bowl in January.
(Do you like how on a week USC isn't even playing, that I still manage to throw them in somewhere? In a UCLA pick nevertheless?)

#14 Penn State vs. EIU

E: (#14 Penn State over EIU) What a terrible game this is. Daryl Clark will have a field day.

J: (#14 Penn State over EIU) Terrible. Same situation as Miami in this one. I say you knock down Penn State a little bit if they even allow a touchdown to Eastern Illinois. Daryl Clark: all day for sure.

#15 Ok. St @ Texas A&M
E- (Texas A&M over #15 Ok. State) Sorry, without my boy, Dez Bryant, they (Ok. State) don't get it done. I don't even care to watch this team anymore to tell you the truth. I think they will struggle on the road without Dez Bryant.

J: (Texas A&M over #15 Ok. State) I'm gonna have to agree with Eric on the upset pick. The loss of Dez Bryant is a big one, but I chose the upset more due to Texas A&M's play at home. They always seem to play great and keep up with their oppenents when playing home games. Decently sized upset.

#16 Kansas vs. Iowa State

E: (#16 Kansas over Iowa State) Kansas should handle Iowa pretty easily. Their QB is awesome and will put up huge numbers.

J: (#16 Kansas over Iowa State) Todd Reesing is still one of the best QB's in the nation and he's going to have a big game. With all of our projected upsets, is it possible that Kansas might be thrown into the top-12 come Sunday? Maybe even the top-10?

#17 Auburn @ Arkansas
E: (Arkansas over #17 Auburn) I don't think Auburn is event that good. They barely beat Tennessee, who really is not great. Arkansas will be tough at home. Remember against Georgia?

J: (Arkansas over #17 Auburn) Ryan Mallet is becoming the QB everyone expected him to be. The only thing is, they expected him to be playing big as a Wolverine, not a Razorback. However, the early experience at Michigan, plus a year-off due to transfer rules, has really let Ryan mature into a great QB. Auburn is undefeated, but they may be a little overrated. Watch for Arkansas to pull the upset.

#18 BYU @ UNLV

E: (#18 BYU over UNLV) This will be a horrible game. A huge blowout in my eyes. UNLV got killed by Nevada, and BYU is so much better than Nevada.

J: (#18 BYU over UNLV) Whatever. Irrelevancy.

#19 Oklahoma vs. Baylor

E: (#19 Oklahoma over Baylor) This game should be close at first, but then Oklahoma will take over. If Bradford plays then it will definitely be a blow out.

J: (#19 Oklahoma over Baylor) Sammy B. is back in this one. Watch for the Sooners to test his big arm against a not-so-great Baylor squad.

#22 G-Tech @ Florida St.
E: (G-Tech over Florida State) There is drama going on over on Florida St. Don't think they have really been think about this game to much. Look for G-Tech to win this game with Nesbitt, and the run game.

J: (Florida State over G-Tech) It hasn't been a great week at Florida state, but I think the Seminole players will have something to say about their beloved coach, Bobby Bowden. They'll give him a big win over a good Georgia Tech team at home to hopefully silence some of Bobby's critics.

#25 South Carolina vs. Kentucky

E: (#25 South Carolina over Kentucky) I think Kentucky is pretty beat up from playing Florida, and then Alabama. They had their 2 superbowls already. This game could get out of hand real fast.

J: (#25 South Carolina over Kentucky) Eric, this game WILL get out of hand pretty fast. The Gamecocks are looking pretty good so far this season and they play great at home. Watch for the Gamecocks to get another win against the Wildcats.

Those are our College Picks for Week 6. Stay Tuned for NFL picks this weekend.
