Before we get started, let's tally up our picks of the weekend.

NFL:
Eric: 10-4
Jon: 7-7 (DAMMIT)

Jon here, I would like to personally congratulate Eric on finally beating me. Jerk.

NCAA FOOTBALL:

Eric: 14-4
Jon: 11-7

Once again, I would like to give props to Eric for beating me. Dick.

MLB POSTSEASON
We went 2-2. Not terrible, but not solid. However, we picked the Dodgers over the Cards because we knew they'd play well. Sweep worthy? Well, we didn't know that. However, we'd like to note that 9 of 10 ESPN analysts (they get paid for it) picked the Cardinals to win. We also didn't expect the Sox to get swept by the Angels.

DODGERS VS. PHILLIES

THE REMATCH

No one gave the Dodgers a shot against the Cardinals. Dodgers ended up sweeping, and the Phillies went to 4 games, therefore the Dodgers are better?

No. Unfortunately, it's a lot more complicated than that.

We believe both offenses will be on the ball. Both teams provide plenty of weapons. So, the match up really comes to down to pitching.
GAME 1: Kershaw vs. Hamels
Battle of the lefties.

We believe the Dodgers will win game 1, but it's going to be a close one. Both pitchers will get rocked and be pulled out mid game, but it'll come down to the bullpens. Dodgers offense will pull out the win and will set the tone for the rest of the series.

As for the rest of the series, Padilla vs. Martinez will end with another Dodger win. Martinez? Are you serious?

Cliff Lee will get a win in Philly, and the Phils might steal another win at home with Hamels on the mound.

But it's going to be too much Dodgers offense to win games 5 and 6 to win the series 4-2 and advance to their first World Series in 21 years.

YANKEES VS. ANGELS
Easily the best series match up in recent memory, the Yankees-Angels match up has the makings to be an instant classic.

Predicting that this series will be a thrilling one is easy.

Picking the winner is not.

We'll tell you that the series won't go any less games than SIX, but we can't tell you who'll have the lead. Let's analyze, shall we?

GAME 1: Sabathia vs Lackey.

If the Angels were at home, this game may result differently, but it's not. It's in the Bronx and Jay-Z will be pumped from the crowd. Kate Hudson will be drooling from the dugout seats, and Billy Crystal will be wetting his pants. Sabathia at home, all day.

The rest of the series:

Too tough to analyze. Both teams are on a mission. Angels for respect and Nick Adenhart, and the Yankees because they're the Yankees, and because they're loaded and don't want this talent to go to waste.

Who will win the series?

Jon: Angels (by a hair)
Eric: Yankees (by a nose)

In NFL news...
A group trying to buy the St. Louis Rams dropped controversial radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh today. They felt as if Rush's presence came with too much noise and would eventually hurt their chances of buying the Rams.

We feel this was a good decision on the part of the groups because Rush's presence in the NFL is not needed. We don't have to go back that far to Rush's devisive statements about Donovan McNabb, claiming that McNabb is overrated because he's black, a statement that makes no sense at all.

Players such as Bart Scott and Mathias Kiwinaka have stated publicly that they would never play for a Limbaugh-owned team, let alone support having him in the league. Colt's owner, Jim Irsay, has already said he would vote against having that group buying the Rams with Limbaugh attached.

But perhaps the most important of all statements on the issue came today, from the NFL owners meeting, by commissioner Roger Goodell.

"I would not want to see those comments coming from people who are in a responsible position in the NFL –- absolutely not."

"I've said many times before, we're all held to a high standard here," Goodell told the New York Times.

Goodell also stated that he's always in support of his players and owners. Goodell said that he would always defend his players wishes.

In College Football...
We would like to congratulate Stafon Johnson on making it out of the hospital. Though, he is still unable to speak, we hope for the best for Stafon and hope that he'll play football again one day.

Now, there's the whole Dez Bryant thing, Eric's boy. You can't just screw a player over like that. This is just another example of the NCAA overpowering defenseless players. Yeah, Dez did lie to them when asked about his encounters at the home of Deion Sanders, but he still never did anything wrong. The NCAA should suspend him a game at most, if even a game at all. Slap him on the wrist, but don't ruin his junior year and his possible draft status. He's arguably the best WR in all of college football right now and is making the NCAA money through TV ratings. We're a lot less likely to watch OK State now without Dez Bryant.

Lastly, our prayers go out to USA Soccer player Charlie Davies. He was seriously injured in a car accident near Washington, D.C. in which another passenger in the car he was in was killed. We hope the best for him and wish him a successful recovery.
