THAT OTHER NY TEAM.

METS PLEASE DONT TELL ME YOU FORGOT ABOUT THE METS.
Yankees. That's all everyone talks about, those damn Yankees. The team that buys all the best players and one of the best owners in the league. Well, hello, there is still another team in N.Y. and that team is the Mets. They were supposed to get to the World Series this year. Mets picked up the best closer in the game to go along with their decent pitching staff and their young and underrated lineup. This was the year when people could see a subway series. Hell, the Mets were the team that I thought could go all the way. So, there's this thing in sports called injuries. I dont know if you heard about them or not, but I hear it's a big deal. Like Jon Gonzo, he's kind of a big deal (LOL). Well, that talk of a subway series, the Mets going all the way, and "K-Rod will get our team to the World Series," it's all gone due to that little thing called injuries. First Reyes, one of the best shortstops in the game, suffered a hamstring injury and has been out most of the year. His absence alone is why the team's winning percentage has dropped completely. Carlos Beltran, this guy is in his prime, they also lost him to a knee inury. Then Carlos Delgado, a huge bat in the lineup, is out as well with a hip injury. All you have left in that lineup is David Wright, which is huge, but he also happens to have the lowest power numbers of his career and just recently got hit in the face by the ball, and he's out for the year. The only consistent guy they have had all year was D. Wright and now he is gone. Just when Reyes, Beltran, and Delgado were making their way back. For K-Rod, it's got to be hell for him. He leaves the Angels, who have the second best record in the AL and are World Series favorites, to go to a Mets team that is 7 games under .500 and only had their whole team out there playing for what? Basically opening day. He's been huge for their team this year and all of it has been for nothing. That big check will keep him a little happier though, but he's not winning a World Series this year. It's too bad though, because they could have gone far, but thats why in sports you never know, because anything can happen.
