JM x 2

JUSTIN MORNEAU AND JOE MAUER
These two guys are honestly ridiculous. It's just plain stupid how good these guys can hit. I feel bad for any pitcher facing the Twins because they have to face the JM's back to back. Imagine a coach saying to a rookie pitcher, "I'll get you the start tonight against the Twins, have fun with those 3-4 batters." He checks the 3-4 batters, and the first guy he has to face is Joe Mauer. Mr.Mauer I dont know if you know this or not, is hitting a cool .383 avg. Are kidding me?! Who does he think he is, Pete Rose or something? This guy hasnt even played 100 games this season, and he already has 25 Hrs, 77 Rbis, and a .653 Slg Percentage. I'll let the stats do all the talking, and you can let me know what you think. The guy is a plain hitting machine. He was put on this Earth to do one thing, and that was to hit, plain and simple, not to mention this guy is a catcher also. Yes, a catcher who is close to hitting .400! Thats unheard of. Joe is only 26, and if I were the Twins, I would stop him from playing catcher right now and just strictly DH him. They havent done that yet because he is a damn good catcher; Joe just won a gold glove last year. I am honored to be able to experience such a great overall player, like Joe Mauer, and I hope he can end up hitting .400 this year.

So, the rookie pitcher now looks at the 4th batter. He reads Justin Morneau, the greatest canadien baseball player of this era. He bats cleanup in the Twins lineup, and he sure does a great job of cleaning up. Back in 2006, he was MVP for the AL, and he was just plain unpitchable that year. This year he is putting up those same type of MVP numbers again, so I wouldnt be surprised if he wins another one. He is batting .298 with 28 Hrs, 94 rbis, and a .555 slg percentage. Again, I'll let his stats do the talking for me, and also tell me what you think about them. He is honestly an RBI MACHINE, and he has been consistent at it for about the last 4 years. He will probably end up hitting above .300 with 40 Hr, and about 120 Rbis. He carries this team day in and day out. Well, should I say these two JM guys carry the Twins team every night? The part where I scratch my head at is that the Twins are 7 games under .500. WHAT?! How can a team with these two guys, both putting up MVP numbers, have a losing record? I mean I'm pretty sure this team should be able to turn it around this last month. If not, then I will be in complete shock, unless the Twins are really that bad, and everyone else on the team is not doing their part. So, at the end of the season these two studs will probably be 1-2 in the AL MVP standings. When is the last time something has happened like that before? I hope they both keep it up, because it that would be special to see. I will be surprised if this Twin team doesn't make a run for a playoff spot pretty damn soon. If they don't, then this year that Justin Morneau and Joe Mauer are having, sadly, won't even matter. It will just be another great stat sheet year for them with no playoffs or ring to add to it.
