Are you? Because I'm officially PUMPED. As you all have heard, especially after unexpected reports from Vikings players yesterday, Brett Favre, the reason I ever started watching football, is BACK. Once again, to the annoyance of more than half the fans, and a shocker to every fan out there wearing a cheesehead, Brett Favre joined the Minnesota Vikings, and yours truly could not be happier. It will always bug me that Brett had to ever leave Green Bay, especially because they pretty much forced him out of there. As Eric mentioned earlier, I say "Packers" when asked who I root for in the NFL, but unlike a loyal fan, I will admit I'm a Brett Favre fan first, just like every new "Cavalier" fan, you like them only because of #23. The funniest part of this whole story is that my boy John David Booty had to give up his #4, but I'm sure he doesn't mind. If you thought that Brett wearing a different shade of green was weird, well his purple #4 looks even stranger, but I can deal. The Vikings immediately put on their team site a section called "Brett Favre Central" and adorned the cover page with that picture above. 10/5 will be the first time Brett faces off against his former team and nearly a month later, 11/1, he will be throwing balls in an enemy uniform, all over Lambeau Field. Other than the week 17 match-up against the Giants, the same Giants that stopped him 2 years ago from playing in a third Super Bowl, the Vikings schedule isn't too exciting, but it's very, very manageable. I'm not making predictions just yet, because they have yet to play a down together, but God am I excited for the 2009-10 season of the NFL.
